My name is Julie Squires. Just recently, I have come to Christ. I just want to say thanks for everything that he has done for me in my life, even though I was not aware of it at the time. I am aware now and by far, my life has changed and definitely for the better. I was introduced to a course called Alpha, and it is the best thing I ever could have done. I always thought God was around but the only time I spoke to Him was when things were going bad or wrong. I never much put God in my life in a positive way. Taking Alpha has changed everything. On the weekend of November 1-3, we went on a retreat weekend and the main topic of the weekend was the Holy Spirit. I don't think that I have ever cried as much as I did on that weekend. I participated in my first communion that Sunday and I cried harder than ever before. The weekend was such an amazing weekend, full of new discovery of Jesus, God, the Holy Spirit and myself. When I entered the weekend, I did not feel as though I was a Christian, after communion, I felt as though I had fully accepted Jesus into my life and into my heart and soul. As we were doing a wrap up at the end of the weekend, my comments were, "I came into this weekend, as the only non-Christian person, the only one not baptized. I am leaving this weekend as a Christian, fully accepting of Jesus." I am now proud to announce that I will be getting baptized in December of this year (2002). I guess my prayer request is that you pray that I will have a safe spiritual journey walking with God and Jesus in my heart.
