Prosperity

Giving and Reciving

What is prosperity? To be satisfied. To have all in life that you need. Material things make life more comfortable and money gives you security. Jesus never said that money was bad, it was the love of money. Nothing should be more important than your relationship with God. What does the Bible say about prosperity?

Jesus Himself said, "But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." ( Matt. 6:33)

Paul said in (Philippians 4:19), "But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches and glory by Christ Jesus."

All your needs would be financial, material, and other needs. Phil.4:19 is particularly talking about financial and material things. People sometimes think that if a person is a Christian that it is a mark of humility or Godliness for him to live in poverty. But that isn't what Jesus said. He said "Seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." Thank you Jesus!

(Luke 6:38) "Give and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

Read that carefully. Give and it will be given to you. We are to love one another. If you see a person in need you are to help. When you help one of God's children it is like helping Him. It is a gift to God, it shows Him you love Him. If you had a child that gave you gifts, what would you do for him? You would love him and give him anything he wanted as long as you didn't think it would hurt him. Imagine what God wants to give His children that love Him. Give and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured in your lap. You can't out give God. God has given you His Son and eternal life with Him do you think that He will not give you the world. For with the measure you use, it will be given to you. Just show Him you love Him and stand back it's coming.

My son is 40 years old. He and his wife own their own business, with just the two of them working. He was having trouble making ends meet. He had to borrow money from me every month to pay the rent. He would just pay it back when he would need more money to borrow. His wife asked me, you seem to never work hard and you always have money for us. How can we do it? I told them anything that you do in business if you would not be comfortable with Jesus sitting next to you when you do it, don't do it. My son said we might loose half our business. I said then loose it. God will make it up. The next thing to do is to take 10% off the top of all the money that comes in and give it to the Lord. The first job my son got after that was for five thousand dollars. He wanted to pay all of his debts first and then start with the Lord. I said no the first 10% is His. Within months my son was out of debt and had more money than I thought humanly possible. He has a new house paid for in full, he has a thriving business with twenty or thirty working for him. God has surely poured it into his lap, in good measure, until it is running over.

(Malachi 3:10) Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. "Test Me in this" says the Lord Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of Heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it."

It says in Matthew 4:7 do not test the Lord. But here God has given us permission to. He is saying give to me and I will open the floodgates of Heaven to you.

God loves you and there is nothing He won't do for you, if you follow His ways, and praise His name. Just never be led by your greed, only by your love for Jesus.
